Every exclusivity deal has a contract between two companies. It needs to be legally binding.

I never said Sony is a knight in shining armor but MS makes them seem that way. Thats how bad MS is. You must've missed the start of the generation. Them not stooping to Microsofts level with DRM and caused a lot of Xbox gamers who were going to shun their Xbox Ones to stay loyal to MS so in the end they should thank them for Sony giving them the blue print on how to save face when you show people you true colors.

Also, what first party games is MS making that are so "fine"? Most of their best franchises were purchased and not made. When Phil Spencer was talking about moneyhatting Uncharted they admitted they tried to make one but failed to and they wish they had an uncharted. MS admitting that they cannot create a game of Uncharteds stature internally at the time being.

Final Fantasy XV never was exclusive to PS4 though, although Square probably went to Sony. Sony just didn't want to pay them for it.

I think it would have been great if Sony did pay for exclusitivity - gives them a competitive advantage. However if Sony was going to buy an exclusive game it would probably be better to get something like Destiny, Grand Theft Auto, or Watch Dogs or something to appeal more to westerners.Microsoft clearly bought Rise of the Tomb Raider to compete with Uncharted.

Sony was going to stoop to MS' DRM but saw the reaction to it. MS wanted DRM because of their digital distribution features, not because they were some evil company that hates you. But you forget one thing: Microsoft got rid of their stupid DRM features a WEEK after that disastrous E3. On the other hand, it took three YEARS for Sony to turn the PS3 around. You must've forgotten the PS3 debacle, which Sony did not rectify til a rebranding in 2009. As bad as Microsoft's 2013 E3 was, nothing will ever match Sony's E3 2006.

And then of course you have the PSN outage in 2011, which Sony wouldn't admit to til 2 weeks after it happened.

If you think Sony is some friend that has your back you're wrong. Both Microsoft and Sony are corporations who will do what they can do to get an advantage. That's why this "Sony is the nicest company ever!" narrative is getting annoying. For example, while Microsoft's DRM was bad, what you forgot to mention was that during that same week Sony was going to start making you pay for online. Yet no one bashed Sony for it. For years all we heard was how Microsoft should make Live Gold free and now that Sony is charging for online no one cares. This is what I mean by the narrative that Sony can do no wrong while Microsoft eats little kids.

And Microsoft has Halo and Gears of War. As good as Uncharted is, it doesn't have near the impact Halo has. Companies do this stuff all the time. Resistance and Killzone were Sony's attempts at getting their own Halo. Crash Bandicoot was Sony's answer to Mario and Sonic. Rise of the Tomb Raider is Microsoft's attempt at getting an Uncharted. Forza was Microsoft trying to get their own Gran Turismo.

I am not a fanboy - the PS2 is my second favorite console of all time and I preferred the PS3 over the Xbox 360, but dang people need to calm down about Sony already!
