To be fair, on the matter of deals, i`m not sure there aren`t more western deals because Iwata doesn`t want to.
If i`m not mistaken, Nintendo never had that many deals with western developers, even during the N64/GC days.
Maybe it`s easier for Nintendo to secure deals in it`s homeland.
