"Many people from the media kept asking me if the footage from the new Zelda game for Wii U is just a promotional movie, but that really is actual gameplay [in-game assets] on Wii U." - Aonuma

This is what I was afraid of. I looks likes some kind of crappy quick time event. Zelda does not need QTEs, let alone dum ass mechanical laser shooting beasts.

It was not a quick time event.  It was just a little movie put together using the real game.  Be like watching a Mario kart highlight reel.  Pretty sure they are using angles in that, that are not possible when driving a race.

Have you played a Zelda game before?  Enemies have been shooting lasers for many many years.  Have you forgotten about the totem pole eye that when it sees you it shoots out a LASER beam at you?

I have played every single Zelda game, including the CD-i version, and yes im well aware 'lasers' have been in the game. This monster seems beyond what ive seen before.

I am still worried that this is showing a QTE addition to the game. Zelda is the _last_ game I still could like from Nintendo. I have been so disappointed with Zelda, especially the 2 from last gen, that I actually SOLD my Wii, TP, and SS I was so disgusted.

Think of it the same way you thought of the tech demo. They were letting people change the camera angle and whether it was day or night to show it was running on the Wii U (by allowing people to manipulate what was on screen). But, the player was not controlling Link in that demo. This is the same thing (minus people changing camera angles, ect, you get the point), a video of the in game graphics showcasing the new Legend Of Zelda.
