The difference between me and you (and also mii-gamer, Jumpin and other guys in this thread) is that you are too much concerned about the details whereas I only care about the main idea behind all of this: Nintendo has been disinvesting from the West.
I don't care if it's Iwata, Miyamoto, Yamuachi or any other guy... I know it's Nintendo. I also don't care about the business nuances of who owns what and with how much share and with how much power or with what business options or anything of that... I know Nintendo has means to compete and to overcome any unfavorable business/legal situations (if that was to be the case, which I doubt) but didn't even care to try. I also don't care about which western devs were not willing to continue partnering with Nintendo (if that was to be the case, which again I doubt), I know Nintendo didn't go seek for others to replace them so that the western market would continue to be strongly supported.
How do I know that? Because I have sources? No, because it's obvious. The only source I have is the billions of dollars Nintendo has collecting dust instead of being invested on western devs like it is on japanese devs, and the common sense to realize that cash is a universal language that every company speaks (everyone has a price). If Nintendo wanted western devs, they would have gotten them. No source will tell you which enterprises Nintendo doesn't own, so it must be you to tell me how they are supporting the West.
So I think the main point Soundwave made is correct and no one was able to deny it. Some people probably became upset and tried to shift the focus to the details so that the main message was forgotten or Soundwave got less credit (I don't know if you are one of them but you have to agree that others did that) but some others agreed with what he said, which is actually easy to follow.
I must congratulate him because it was a good OP with interesting insights and we need more like that in the forums.

There is no debate about whether Nintendo has been distancing itself from Western developers. That is very clear for all to see. The issue some people have taken here, is with the misinformation and spin that has been included in what would have been an outstanding OP, made worse by some very generalised assumptions made later on in the thread.
Yes, we do need more posts like Soundwave's OP in the forums, but only if they're based on, and backed up with fact.

If that's the case, then it's all fine by me. I couldn't care less about the details.
The only thing I could criticize is the importance you and many people are giving to such details, which I believe is being more destructive than constructive (once there is no consensus between you and Soundwave). So I have a suggestion for you: create that amazing OP you wanted to see and post it here for us to read. Instead of just criticizing the OP, losing focus from the main message and engaging into small "fights" that are not worth the time (at least in my opinion), you would be emphasizing the main points with an enhanced and fact-proven article (with all the correct details backed up by sources). That would be outstanding :) Could you do that?
