Anyway, I expect sales of 3 million LTD minimum (at least 1.5 Japan,and the restof the world takes what's left).  It will do much better than the PSP game.  The PSP game has done well (quite well for a PSP game) despite the fact that most of those 20 million people buy one or two games max.  The Wii will likely have around double the PSP's MH launch install base when MH3 comes out, and it doesn't have such god-awful attach rates.  Not to mention, Wii is much more popular in Japan than PSP is.


Hes comparing wii to ps2 in japan, wii only has under 6 M in japan at the moment and im guessing ps2 had 20 M when MH2 released

 

Also the current trend shows psp is more popular then wii in japan (at least recently), aswell as a higher current install base in japan. When talking about MH people generaly look at japan only since thats where most of the sales are made.
