| bigjon said: Dmeister- MH has grown like wildfire since its last installment. I have little doubt it will sell at least 1 million in Japan (maybe 1.5 million), also, since capcom said they are trying to market the game more globally it could do 2 million WW. The MH3 will sell 500k week one, and have Ok legs... |
Have you seen how Monster Hunter has sold in america.
You don't have to look.
HORRIBLY.
MHF2 sold 2 million units, and only 200k were in america.
All I'm doing is using past data to predict future trends. The previous console installments haven't crossed a million, so why would this one? People have had 3 chances to buy it on consoles, but haven't. Why would this be any different on another console, with 1/3 of the install base?
Yes, Monster Hunter has grown like wildfire... on the PSP. The PS2 version didn't even have any legs. But the PSP version (MHP2) is still in the top fifty till this day.
I just can't say that MH3 will sell any more than a million units, when it's only done 620k on a console with 3x the install base.
