XB1/PS4 will have games in 4-5 years, but WiiU won't? Nintendo announced as many exclusive games for WiiU as there were announced for XB1/PS4 combined. Where's the logic in that? If Nintendo has the most now, and is announcing the most for the future, logic dictates that it will have the most in the end. Regarding the bolded, how can you say this? If you go to metacritic you will clearly see that Wii had the most high rated exclusives of the generation. Below I made a table excluding remakes, collections, and HD ports of game from other gens (e.g. Call of Duty 2).
Every system will have a respectable library of exclusives? Yes and no. Look at the 360, if you didn't like either Halo, Gears or Forza, you loose a huge chunk of the exclusive library. Meanwhile Nintendo and Sony have about 20 different IP's (i.e. you can love your WiiU without Zelda, PS3 without Uncharted). ---- So WiiU is still a better secondary console then the XB1/PS4. Not only will it likely have the most highly rated games, but for $100 less with free online (for the small library of online games) it's a bargin as well. However I will admit that PS4 would make a good alternative to PS4, but not for the reasons you mention. PS4 is more known for JRPG's/Action games where XB is mostly shooters. For an XB1 fan to appreciate a PS4, he'd need a wide interest in genre's, and if he has that wide interest, then a WiiU would still likely make for a better option. |
It's not a good way to start your post with something that simply is not true, go to this thread to get a general idea of what everyone has announced:

In no way has Nintendo announced even close to as many games as MS and Sony put together, keep in mind that for this thread I don't give a crap about things like "Oh, it's also on PC", this is a thread about secondary consoles, so all that matters is what is there on the other console that I can't play on the one I own right now. I also don't care about indie vs. retail game, an indie game can be as or even much more important or worthwile than a retail game e.g. No Man's Sky is worth a lot more to me than Devil's Third.
And regarding your metacritic list, I find that a bit arbitrary, especially since you cut it off at 80. So things like all the versions of Wii Fit and EA Sports Active More Workouts are all worthwile, while Heavenly Sword, Yakuza 3 & 4, Tales of Xillia 1, SIREN Blood Curse, Gears Judgment, Blue Dragon, Tales of Vesperia and ironically Your Shape Fitness Evolved aren't? So I maintain what I said, at the end of the gen all will have a comparable number of worthwile exclusives.
