To me skylanders was one of those magic kid moments games, you buy it, buy some figures, and they come to life. Absolutely loved the first skylanders. But what happened next is the problem with the industry currently. Any good idea gets run into the ground while having its appeal broadened for a wider audience. There are just too many skylanders to collect, and new moves are locked out of old figures forcing you to buy new ones etc. To me the Japanese gaming industry has it right, they know their niche and make their games accordingly and are happy with modest success. |
I don't have anything more to say to you then. Good luck with your Japanese games.
While I would continue to play my western titles (most of which aren't even FPS unlike what you said) as well as the best of what the Japanese have to offer (Metal Gear Solid, Bloodborne, Gran Turismo).
