These definitions certainly describes most of us on a dedicated forum like this. So what shall we call those that come around for the dudebros games that Ubisoft wants to sell?

If this is the definition of hard-core gamER, what is the definition of hard-core GAMES?

A hardcore game would be one that requires a lot of skill and dedication to get through. Something that's not easy to find and has a user base of very skilled gamers. So a lot of indies may fall into that category, at least the ones that mimic the old school arcade games that were very punishing. Most games like Battlefield, CoD, AC, Minecraft, and other yearly releases that people play mostly for multiplayer and populated mostly by young teens and pre-teens would likely be considered casuals. In my book anyways.
