We had a shit trainee once. Just an overall asshole that did nothing, knew nothing, stayed from work and school often. Just a useless piece of shit destroying our nice atmosphere at work.
So we treated him like shit until he left by himself. Truly a magical story :)
If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.
