Usually when it comes to political stuff we let a LOT of shit slide that wouldn't if you replaced "Republicans" with "Microsoft" or something along those lines, but sexism in particular is a toxic presence on the forums (and far from present just on VGC, certainly). Stamping it out where we can is worth whatever other trouble it brings down, since it's shit like this that keeps VGC being a generalized gaming community with more gay men than women (nothing against some of our great gay members, just to show how out-of-whack the proportion is)
I agree with starcraft's approach here (i sanctioned it in the mod chat, without looking at specific actions. Seeing them in the ban list, there's still nothing i'd alter, aside from the length in some cases).
That said, this is something the team will need to discuss to lay down some ground rules, clearly.
