Ah, yeah i thought the game was pretty run of the mill too for a SRPG but I thought you disliked the PS1 Tactics Ogre too. Which I thought had a great story, once you got past the translations anyway.

Bahamut Lagoon would be one of my favorite games if I could get a hold of it legally in english instead of just the import copy. The guy who did the translations did a really good job in changing a few things around and getting the story across. Really it was an amazing job. Really brings you back to the classic RPG days of the SNES.

As it has free roaming, and each unit has a companion dragon, that you can feed stuff to and transform it into a great number of different dragons depending on what you feed it and what stats raise.

The only Ogre games I've played were the SNES Ogre Battle and the GBA Ogre Battle Tactics. Haven't played the N64 game (didn't know there was a PSX game).

I'll definitely see if I can find BL anywhere... after I finish replaying OG2 anyway. I really want to get the Vaisaga (I've missed it twice so far. Got the Ashsaber once and forgot to get Lamia enough kills so I got the Angelg the second time). ^_^

Ah... the PSX one plays similar to the GBA one, except it's movement is based on speed. The PSX one is an SNES port that never came over here in english. It's got a pretty deep story. Square was so impressed with the game they bought out almost the entire tactics development team to make Final Fantasy Tactics.

I think there might be more differences but it's been a long while.

The story is also a lot better. Involving some characters from the Snes Ogre Battle and involving cultural genocide, with branching paths that let you be... "evil". Not like REAL evil but more of a "The ends justify the means" guy rather then the pure evil I punch little kids just to watch them cry characters most games only let you bet.
