If the offensor takes up a posture of "that's not my problem you deal with it", then they're intending to offend, and are continuing to do so. If it's "that wasn't what I was implying", then it is a misunderstanding that needs to be resolved by both parties.

Underlined - the community is certainly thriving well enough without the people who don't want to register, and of course, as I stated in my previous post, I would hope that the moderators deal with issues fairly and reasonably.

I can't speak for people who've come and gone in the past, or how the forum was moderated in the past, but I do not believe that taking the wider view that I do is 'bending over and taking certain types of comments'. I don't think I pass off a bad image of a female gamer, and I have never attracted any inappropriate behaviour from other members.

neither have I but it happens and i can assure you that the females that had those issues werent "asking for it"

Well, I can only take your word for it, since dredging up historical examples would be somewhat insensitive.

But I reiterate, the culture on this forum is a symptom of what the gaming industry is geared towards. It can be managed to be more female friendly, but it can never truly change, unless the industry itself changes. That doesn't mean it's right, it's just how it is.

I knew that and was prepared to accept that before I registered. That doesn't mean that I'm prepared to roll over and take abuse, far from it. But to be honest, there's far more interesting, intelligent and entertaining stuff going on here that's actually to do with games and gaming, for me to be bothered about one or two idiots who seem only to have one thing on their mind. And if anything does bother me, I have faith in the current mod team that they'll deal with it fairly and appropriately.
