There are other threads where I exposed the numbers PS4 would have to be pulling in Europe to reach the 10mi mark since we basic know the USA and Japan situation. I just think that when things shift so much from a previous pattern there should be a good reason. In the USA we know that the price of the PS4 over its direct competitor, and the no show of the third player, gave it a boost in market share. We know the lack of japanease games are damaging PS4 sales in Japan. But the ratio in Europe shifted from 4:3 or 5:3, PS3/360 in the last few years to basicaly 5:1, PS4/XOne. VGChartz numbers without adjust to 10mi, and if the majority the undertracking is comming from Europe sales (and XOne sales are accurate) the sales ratio for this year could be 7:1 or 8:1. |
Sales will not be exclusively coming from Europe, if we believe what ioi said, then a large part of the undertracking must have happened in the rest of the world. And what is so implausible about the PS4 outselling the X1 by a ratio of 5 to 1 in Europe? The reason is simply that the Xbox brand lost everything that gave it as much success in Europe as it had with the 360. It's not early on the market, it's not cheaper and it had horrible PR, meanwhile the PS4 did pretty much everything right and in large parts of Europe Playstation is simply synonymous with console gaming. The X1 doesn't stand a chance in Europe.
