Most of the hate stems from hurt feelings. People believe their platform of choice (poc) is a better value than PS4, then sales don't show it. They feel their poc has better games, then find out they are in the minority for believing that. They feel PS4 doubles their poc sales on hype alone, and lay awake at night wondering why can't their poc compete. They find it strange that developers can make exclusives for the more powerful, easier to develop for and double install base sized PS4 with no cash incentives, but force their poc manufacturer to pay for the same thing and are fine with that. Imagine if your team was 10-72 for the season with Jerry Stackhouse (who in your clouded eyes is lebron james), going against the actual lebron james (who in your eyes is sam bowie) and his 80-2 team, the PS4, that would ruffle you a bit, and it seems that's what's happening with the PS4/Sony.
