No, RRP already includes 17.5% VAT.
My £12.50 estimate of Sony's take was based on Amazon being able to sell it for around £15 + 17.5% VAT.

OK, I see what you meant now, but it doesn't work like that. There is no VAT on what retailers buy from manufacturers/distributers, only on what consumers buy from retailers. There would be no VAT charged on that £12.50.
