I have no idea either, I use to think that Iphones had control of the smartphone market but than I realized that its actually the other way around and Andriods dominate the smartphone market so it really doesnt make sense to me at atleast, as to why apps always arrive late (Or in some cases never) to andriods. If I was developing an app wouldnt you want to initially make your app for the largets market first? Idk maybe its cheaper to develop for IOS or maybe there's some statistics out there that show Iphone users buy more apps, I dont really know much about the mobile development process. |
The thing is, iOS usually has more sales from apps, but Japan (probably one of, if not the target audeince) has Google Play on the exact same footing as iOS in terms of app store revenue. It makes no sense for a Japanese company like SE or Namco or Nintendo to not release on Android, but they refuse to anyway.
I don't even think they can use porting costs as an excuse. These are huge companies we are talking about, they could easily afford to port it, it's not like the game has to be developed all over again. The profit gained from an Android version would easily cover the cost of development, and more.
