The current baselines of both are lower than 3:1 on average. The baseline of the X1 will recover like the Wii  did when it released the games people were waiting for to buy the console.

If the WW base of X1 only goes up to 80k per week next year, the PS4 would have to match that with at least 300k per week to reach 3:1 by the end of the year. Do you think PS4 will have a baseline of 300k next year?

it would have the games for it +likely price drop. 

Thats the thing, it dosent have the games for it.

Did you see gamescon? They showed nothing coming, they only have quantom brake early next year while ps4 showed a bunch of new games. I see after the holidays the x1 will be selling less then the wii u did at its worse. While the ps4 increses its library it gives less and less  reasons to get the x1.

And all 3 will get a pricecut next year so thats not going to help much in the choice making.
