If you guys really have a problem with that you should complain about the people who buy it and not the companies who implement it. I mean, they only implement it because people use it which means there are also people who want this (they will obviously not say that on the internet).
Telling companies not to implement something which at least a part of their audience wants doesn't really work. They would only stop with it if there wouldn't be an audience for it.
That companies who aren't allowed to increase game prices for like 20 years now implement other stuff to make the money they would normally make with higher game prices isn't really a surprise...
Sure, Asscreed would be profitable even without this stuff but you shouldn't forget that the profitable games have to make enough profit to absorb the losses of the unprofitable stuff. And looking at the financials of game companies it doesn't really look as if they don''t know what to do with all the profits...
