Zuh? Miyamoto has worked on like several huge IP in his lifetime, Notch is a nobody by comparision. Come back to us when he makes 3-4 other IP as big as Minecraft. 

Minecraft is a big hit, but in 5 years, no one will give two craps about it, whereas 30+ years on, Mario, Donkey Kong, Zelda, etc. are still global icons. 

Social recognition is something entirely different. I could ask any of my friends who Notch is, and they would know, but only one of my friends know who Shigeru Miyamoto is, and he's a hardcore Nintendo fan. Shigeru is a celebrity in the gaming community, Notch is a celebrity in mainstream pop-culture.

 

In five years Minecraft may very well have outsold Wii Sports, despite how little you want that to happen.
