it sold well in that market not so well in other markets
yeah thats all true and matter, too. but as i said. brand and company "loyality" aswell. yes the ps4 is outselling the xbox one in the uk, right now. but just by a "low" margin. not 3:1 ltd or even 4:1 ytd like here in germany. thats because of the way better product ps4 in many consumer mind. but the xbox one is still a good enough product in many more consumers mind there like in other markets. thats a point of brand/company awareness.
why do u try to imply that doesnt matter? its a big thing in economy if every consumer would do a non subjective purchase decision without previous experiences for the brand/company, we would have a more similar picture in every market... |
Already told you that it does matter, games line up, game genre focus, price, marketing, localisations, all that combined matters more. In my country, Poland Sony actually tries to actively sell consoles, marketing, localisations with big domestic names, social media, local support. MS doesn't give a fuck besides Kinect commercials, and guess what, 360 is actually really popular with kids and parents.
Previous experience with a company is a different thing than hating MS like you were saying previously, unless people hate MS for a good reason, having shitty experience with them.
And of course difference will be bigger in Germany than in UK, the reasons posted above still apply and more people are invested in PS ecosystem which is also an important factor now. UK gamers where 360 was more popular, often need to take the jump to a new ecosystem, leaving what they invested in Xbox behind. But look that Germany ratio gone from 2:1 to 3/4:1 and UK from 1,5:1 in favour of Xbox to 1,5:1 in favour of PS, both ratios jumped twice as much. PS4 is universally favoured this time around not only in Germany or Europe, where people "hate MS".
So it is happening...PS4 preorder.
Greatness Awaits!
