they were criticised, because there was only 1 way to play their games

game streaming in an option that is preferable to the traditional distribution way in certain situations (for example: you only have a bad pc and want to play a high tech single player game -> only need to pay for streaming and not need to buy a new pc)

people to whom it is advantageous should use it, people that gain nothing from it shouldn't bitch about it's existence
