Its totally random. I just beat it without getting all the pieces or baby cries.

When you beat it were you wearing a mic or do you have the ps camera?  I am now hearing that talking and laughter in your gaming room picked up on a mic are what cause the baby to laugh and the ending to occur?

Nope I don 't have a PS camera and wasnt using a mic. I  heard its completely randomized. I read a lot on gamefaqs and the only constant I can confirm is if you re-start the loop at the end and then wait by the radio until the chimes hit,if you immediately go from the radio to the phone when the chimes hit at midnight,the baby will laugh once
