Weird games like Rime, Tearaway Unfolded, and Alienation seem like art projects more than games. That freakish "Robin Hood" game looked nothing like Robin Hood at all. It's like gaming is shifting toward boring indie art projects! Atari 2600 games made more sense. There were still some real games shown, but most of them are shooters that I care nothing about. Gamescom let me down big. |
Look around you, what, from the 80s, is still the same, are the houses, fasions, music, cars, trends and attitudes?
Nope, so why would gaming be.

It's a show about games, there's actually a secret hidden in the name, let me decypher it for you.
Gamescom
Thus, what better to do at such an event then focus on games - console pricedrops are about consoles, not games.

Even worse, Square Enix has betrayed Playstation fans horribly by taking a well known Playstation Icon, and made Tomb Raider into an Xbox exclusive! What!? Playstation put Tomb Raider on the map! Square Enix traitors! Making Final Fantasy multi-platform was bad enough, but now this? Square Enix (Squaresoft) was once my favorite game makers. I was a huge fan. Now they can kiss my ass! Why lie about Microsoft being great partners and being the best thing for Tomb Raider? They took an M$ payoff! |
I found the metal gear solid box segment to be funny, apologies if your sense of humor differs.
Square enix did not create Tomb Raider, they have no reason to pander to PlayStation solely on the grounds of previous games they didn't have a hand in making, they were handed a bunch of money and all they had to do in return was not release the other versions for a set period of time, they took it, end of story.
This is a business after all, these companies don't exist on the sole purpose of putting a smile on peoples face, they exist to make money, if the chance of making a bunch before even releasing a game comes up, they'll take it. 0 it isn't betrayal, it's just business.

This E3 and Gamescom has shown me that gaming is moving away from what made me attracted to gaming in the first place. Something started going wrong at about 2006, and gaming has been in slow decline since then. I think it is the Microsoft online push and western gaming taking over. Today, I am a depressed gamer. My only hope for exciting gaming announcements this year is at the Tokyo Game Show. |
Then move on and find something else to do with your spare time, japanese gaming and the asian games market is shrinking and becoming less and less important, that trend isnt going to change just because you want it to, so pack up and move on with your life if you don't like it, sure sounds better than wasting time getting a second gaming community to unanimously dislike you.
