Weird games like Rime, Tearaway Unfolded, and Alienation seem like art projects more than games. That freakish "Robin Hood" game looked nothing like Robin Hood at all. It's like gaming is shifting toward boring indie art projects! Atari 2600 games made more sense. There were still some real games shown, but most of them are shooters that I care nothing about. Gamescom let me down big. There were no price cuts announced for PS3 or Vita. In fact, one would think they were ashamed of both, since they barely mentioned either. I don't actually remember PS3 being mentioned at all! Was the Metal Gear cardboard box demo supposed to be a funny joke? Even worse, Square Enix has betrayed Playstation fans horribly by taking a well known Playstation Icon, and made Tomb Raider into an Xbox exclusive! What!? Playstation put Tomb Raider on the map! Square Enix traitors! Making Final Fantasy multi-platform was bad enough, but now this? Square Enix (Squaresoft) was once my favorite game makers. I was a huge fan. Now they can kiss my ass! Why lie about Microsoft being great partners and being the best thing for Tomb Raider? They took an M$ payoff! I have to say that gaming is becoming something that I am caring little about. This E3 and Gamescom has shown me that gaming is moving away from what made me attracted to gaming in the first place. Something started going wrong at about 2006, and gaming has been in slow decline since then. I think it is the Microsoft online push and western gaming taking over. Today, I am a depressed gamer. My only hope for exciting gaming announcements this year is at the Tokyo Game Show. |
firstly the price cuts, Vita is what it is Sony know outside of Japan its pointless to bring it up, the ps3 is still selling decently ill expect a price drop when the ps4 gets one or at TGS,
now to tomb raider its a freaking Time Exclusive, on top of that who the hell would get Tomb Raider over Uncharted 4 all MS did was garrantee that the PS4 will get some kind of definitive edition at a later date Phil Spencer himself said its a timed exclusive and he didnt know the plans that Square had to bring it to other consoles after thier deal is over. Square was super smart to do this they get the cash from MS now, put it on thier system and when the hubbub over Uncharted 4 is over they can release it on the PS4 at full price instead of it sitting on shelves till its at a discount price. MS is the dumb one here wasting cash on a game and not getting full exvlusivity, its also coming to 360. we still havent seen a bunch of sonys studios and the games they are working on, Media Molecule, Sony Bend, and Guerila games are all working on games that have yet to have anything known about them. Sony does this they start off slow with games and are loaded on the back end. For me Gamescon was good even as a sony fan, got more info on Bloodborne, Teraway which was freaking great on the vita, firmware 2.0 features shareplay even if its only 60 mins, i didnt expect sony to come out with new AAA titles yet, they still have a few to come out this year and early next year, this year you have Driveclub, LBP3 next year you have The Order and Bloodborne early and UC4 late. i suspect we will either see new stuff at TGS but im suspecting at E3 we will see some games that are new.
