While many have focused on the rampant negative press of the Tomb Raider timed exclusivity deal, it's easy to overlook the real gem of this years Gamescom, that being in part because one of those responsible for its creation, Hideo Kojima neglected to even mention it during any of the primary conferences, instead we got a vauge reference to it under a likely fake studio, 7780s for a title potrayed as being a jumpscarefest called P.T.
As it turns out the teaser released on to the PlayStation store is infact a teaser for a new Silent Hill game running on the fox engine, and being created by both Hideo Kojima and Guillermo del Toro.
Many twitch streamers and gamers in general have played through the deceptively simple teaser, after all it's simply a L shaped hallway with one room, yet despite this people have already pumped hours into it, with new discoveries being made continually.
I for one am excited for the title and for this new direction for Kojima, not being bound by the story and series that is Metal Gear and instead being tasked with refreshing the beloved but misguided series Silent Hill.
I believe the combination of a new approach to the series, and retasking Hideo Kojima with a new series, along with the inclusion of Guillermo del Toro, will lead to a return of the genuinely scary, deep, magnetic experiences Silent Hill was once known for.
Currently there is no news or info of any sort stating what platform the game will release on, but it's assumed that this will be released for both Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
