Tomb Raider when it comes to story requires a suspension of disbelief to make it through the game for the serious story fanatic. People who don't care much for story wont have such a problem. It has many holes and makes very little sense. The connection between herself and her friends is laughable at best. How this woman survives past the first hour of the game is just insane and the disbelief continues even towards the end of the game. Its just a crazier shoot em up version of Uncharted now compared to the old Uncharted's. The game also reuses characters, so you'll find yourself killing the same guy over and over and over again and you'll at some point get so bloodthirsty in the mindless massacre that you wont care anymore. Crystal Dynamics is terrible at creating tension. The only tension they had (without spoilers) was a the build up of an omenous presence. I am sure you've heard some commentary regarding the storyline, but it was a valid effort nevertheless. Its online is a rip off of Uncharted as well and fails to even hold a candle to it in the process.

Uncharted is just a fantastic franchise. Makes the story based adventure genre feel fresh and new. The pacing of the story actually makes you interested in those involved and feel a weight inside if you lose a friend. Naughty Dog gets serious kudos for giving their franchises between Last of Us and Uncharted a night and day type of feeling. The multiplayer isnt as good as last of us, but its getting there and now that the last of us was fixed. Its a light hearted game that has that suave indiana jones feel. Thats what makes Nathan Drake more relatable than Lara Croft as well. Ellie in Last of Us is more relatable to females of the 21st century than Lara is.

I easily say Uncharted. The new Tomb Raider was inspired by Uncharteds cinematic development but it didnt wear it well enough to say its better. If you want a mindless shooter its great. I will play it when it hits bargain bin next year for sure.
