They can't do that because the PS3 isn't doing all that great in Japan. The only console that is doing great in Japan is the Wii and that's the reason games like MH3 moved and Fatal Frame IV has been decided on the Wii and more Japanese-esque games will move to the Wii (Suikoden, etc.). Also a reason why you'll see a lot of Japanese devs move to the Wii. |
I dont know what to suggest for Sony though, they pushed a hell of a lot before the holiday season with a new colour and everything. The way it looks is that the PS3 will get a little boost back into life, carry that for a few weeks then die off again. I think the main problem is that the software released really is few and far between. They get a boost up to 40k, and it dies again because no new games are released when the momentum begins to die out.
Sony, give those developers lots of money that youre obviously willing to spend on the PS3 to release games OFTEN. It doesnt matter if theyre awful, its not impossible to make cheap games for the PS3, as long as they appeal to japan. How many games did the PS2 have that were just reruns and shovelware that never saw the light of day in western europe? Probably 50% of all successful games in japan for the console.
