Honestly, if you think that there are a lot of people thinking "Oh man, I desperately want an XBox 360/PS3 but I'll buy a Wii because I can afford one" you're fairly delusional. People who are buying Wii Systems (believe it or not) actually decided that they wanted a Wii.


I agree with you completly , I think 99.9% of people won't choose a Wii over 360/PS3 because of price point , I wasn't really trying to compare with 360 sales I was just trying to illustrate how much th Wii owes it's succESSto it's low price point.

Casual devices /games are more price elastic than Hardcore hardware/games (not to say that the Wii is competley casual but it identifies more with the casual gamer audience than the hardcore) , to put it simply the Wii is far more responsive to price changes than the 360/Wii.
