I dont think it was mario kart alone. I think they also had a great E3 and people got hopefull for nintendo again. MS did show mostly cg trailers for games not even coming out this year, or the next. I belive this was a major factor because also since E3 the x1 has droped to sub 60k aside from launch week of the $400 sku. I belive 2 bad E3's in a row will kill their holliday sales and that good one to boost the wii us holliday.
