Why are people saying the 3DS is selling badly?

If the 3DS was doing well, it should have matched or exceeded the DS. It's not able to hold the empire, it's doing poorly. Same with the Vita, Wii U, PS4, and Xbone. The whole industry is doing poorly and needs to evolve.
