I don't want gimmicks and I don't want unnecessary features like 3G or a HD screen jacking up the price. I want a simple, comfortable, affordable handheld that resembles a DualShock controller as closely as possible. Also, no more wimpy hinges ruining your otherwise reliable hardware. |
3G and HD aren't unnecessary features. They are extremely nessecary. They are industry standards. A handheld without them in 2016 will be extremely outdated and antiquated.
As for resembling a controller, it's meant to be portable. If you can just buy a controller grip for that. And I owned four hinged Nintendo consoles. Never had an issue. If your systems are breaking so easily, you aren't taking proper care of them.

3G is useless, wi-fi is obviously a much better option. Also, why does a tiny screen need to be HD, it already has a far higher pixel density than any "HD" TV. Increasing the resolution is pointless and wasteful. No offense but your type of thinking is why we end up with systems like the Vita. Also, I am extremely delicate with my DS because it is poorly constructed, flakey garbage. I am hardly the only person who has issues with the clamshell design.

Wifi is awesome when you have access to it. You don't always have access to it. In a car or in a place with locked wifi, your on your own and you shouldn't be. There a huge difference. You seriously think that the 3DS screen is at all comparable to the Vitas or literally any modern phone? It's not even close to good enough. No offense, but you're obviously not. I'm not at all delicate with my DS. Never had an issue. I don't remember anyone breathing a sigh of releaf when the 2DS was released. I do remember how popular that GBA SP was, specifically because of its clamshell design.
Anyone who things that the Vita is a failure because it has 3G needs to think harder. It's a failure because it's trying to be a mobile console, and not a handheld.

Sorry but 3G is a feature that would inflate the cost only to be utilized by a handful of users, it is a flat out terrible idea. The pixel density doesn't need to be as good as a smart phone and if it did, good luck achieving that for a reasonable price. Just because you haven't had a problem with the clamshell design doesn't mean that other people haven't. Hell, there are other users in this very thread criticizing it. Newsflash, the SP was popular because the original GBA was a steaming pile of battery eating trash, not because it was a clamshell. Finally, where did I state that the Vita failed because of 3G? It failed largely because it was too expensive and including a "HD" OLED screen along with nearly useless features such as 3G were only part of that problem.
