Probably depends on your perspective.
For instance, if you beat Classic mode as Mario in Brawl, you get a regular Mario trophy. You will most likely also receive a similar Mario trophy for clearing Classic mode as him in the new Smash. However, this Mario trophy will probably not use the same model, the same pose, or the same description as the one in Brawl, so although in implementation it is a "repeat" trophy, it is actually brand new.
