Almost 10K is pretty good? Do you remember the time Vita was at this level?

For a home console, in Japan, which only big seller at the moment is Mario Kart 8, 10k is pretty good, if it was a handheld, then it would be bad, but it is quite good for a home console, specially in the state in which Japan's home console market is.

It isn't really good even by that metric to be honest. The Wii U is still down year over year in Japan despite having Mario Kart 8. 

Nor is it bad. Well with its only big release till now being Mario Kart 8, it is no surprise.

It's pretty bad honestly, how can you not beat last year's YTD with Mario Kart 8 this year? Last year was horrible. 

If consoles are this irrelevant in Japan, then they're pretty much not worth discussing, it's a non-market. 

Because Mario Kart 8 came out in the mid of the year, with no bundle, and with no free game promotion, after a tax hike, that threw the Japanese market, to very low numbers, specially the consoles with their higher price point, even lower, than what they already were. So it is not bad, for the current state of the Japanese market.

We'll have to agree to disagree then. There should have been a much bigger boost hardware wise from a game like MK8.
