Nobody really cares about all that much about people dying in the middle East, unless Jews are involved. It's all about marketing.
The corrupt regimes of these countries are falling either due to internal protests (Egypt), rebellion (Syria), or outside intervention (Iraq). Unfortunately, the vacuum of power is being filled by Islamic extremist groups which are often even worse than the regimes they overthrow.
