| Tamron said: So moving back to the point here. On average, CN versions will "officially" be 5-10$ less than US prices, but be region locked *1 No solid confirmation given to state yes or no, however so long as the hardware and software are not bound by the same laws as mainland china around requirements to sell, it should be region free, we'll find out for sure soon enough |
There is also nothing stopping them from selling it for a cheaper price as the official price will be when the console finally releases in China. You arguments over half of the thread are based on prices people have to pay right now which has obviously nothing to do with the official release of the console and theoretical prices which could happen if stores would sell games higher as the official price is even if a lower official price as in USA will probably also mean that Chinese stores have to pay less for these games as stores in USA/Europe have to pay.
The only fact we have right now is that official prices in countries like USA are 60 bucks for the "big games" and that the official price of games in China will be between 15-40 bucks (I would guess lower than 40 probably only for smaller games from Chinese companies). This has nothing to do with a one year old Forza which you always used in your arguments because Microsoft said that 40 will be the maximum official price for all games in China (but not HK).
You may be right and we will see it when the console finally releases officially and it will be also interesting to see how game prices of new games in 2015 will be but right now you argue as if you would already know everything even if at least the official price differences speak against it.
