I have my wiiU offline since my 2 and 5 year old play with it. I only enable online (linked through virtual hotspot on my laptop) when they're allowed to watch let's play videos on you tube. Time to turn it off: netsh wlan stop hostednetwork. The WiiU not being able to keep a direct connection to my router turned into an advantage.
I do fear the time when they start to know more about computers than me :(
