Studio Ghibli [temporarily] shuts down production department

Just terrible news, for the industry and for me personally. Studio Ghibli is the finest animation studio on the planet and has been for almost 30 years.

Best of luck to the animators, directors, artists, and producers affected by the decision. Maybe soon some of them will form a new studio and carry the torch.
