OK then, let's play a little game. I can think of just two plausible reasons why this would keep happening. Option one: either MS or Sony are paying Activision to not announce the Nintendo version or advertise it in any way. Option two: Activision are choosing not to announce the Nintendo version in order to depress sales on the system - basically, sabotaging it. Can you provide any other plausible explanation for them to not even say in their press releases "game will also be available on the Wii U"? It costs them nothing to simply list Wii U amongst the platforms it will be available on and to have the Wii U logo at the end of the various trailers alongside the other logos. It's not the fact that Nintendo versions sell worse - I'm not suggesting they make any additional effort along the way, so it's neither time, effort, not cost explaining it. Nintendo gains nothing from it, so it's not coming from Nintendo. It's not an appeasement of Sony/MS without money being involved, because neither company would in any way punish Activision by refusing to support a game that sells so strongly on their system - they benefit too much from CoD being on their system for them to in any way impede Activision. And you can't say that it's in any way about avoiding having to announce a cancellation if they decide to cancel it, because Activision hasn't had any problem announcing cancellation of other Wii/Wii U games. So, what alternative explanations are there? |
i gave a few other guys plausible explanations read them
option one makes no sense as MS already pays for exclusive advertisment, so in a way you are actual right. but it makes no sense for them to spend even MORE money to keep a version of a game underwraps that was never a threat to them EVER and never was going to be. Sony makes even less sesne since there version sells almost as much WITHOUT them having to spend an extra dime.
option 2, but why? why even make the version anyway if they are going to sabotage it. and no its not to please shareholders as that version accounts for 1% of sales. Hell i wouldnt be surprised if some shareholders say lets not even waste the money it cost to port and not have a Wii U version at all.
what other acitvision games were cancelled on WIi U? and were any of them close to the importance or popularity of COD? kind of doubt it.
