No it didn't (hence why I'm replying late).
It's simple really. The forum reacts on the use of the quote button and not the actual html code inside the post.
That's also exactly the reason why that little trick you menationed earlier works. If multiple quotes would work, that trick wouldn't.
If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.
