This I 100% agree with you on, the gameplay is just way way too repetative and boring. I don't get why this is so popular.

I want to also add

Atelier - Great gameplay, but a dull plot
Dark Souls - Too hard, it's not fun to grind/backtrack. Had it been easier, I would have liked a fairly simple JRPG like this.

Hmm there is no need for grinding in Dark Souls just an FYI. It's difficulty is what makes you master enemies attacks, pay attention to every move, the environment and master the mechanics......Last thing it needs to to be yet another rpg players blast through like Bioware RPG's.

I disagree, I like to play games casually, not all tensed up and in a panic. I got 20% through the game, and it's just annoying at how many times I die, and how I can loose everything if I don't recover my souls.
