Well I don't know which fanboys were saying it (not that it surprises me that they do say it), it's not surprising that a big game, in this case, GT5:P, lifted the PS3 over the Wii (in Others at least) for the week of release said big game. What's more important, is whether the PS3 (or any other hardware) stays above the Wii (or any other hardware) for more than just the first week after the release of the said game. I would expect you could find a few times when the GameCube or Xbox beat the PS2 in sales in any one territory, or even total worldwide. But that didn't matter much since they couldn't continue beating them in the long term.

Either way, good job PS3. In order to get a "great job" it has to outsell the Wii for a few more weeks, at least until GTA4, then it should be able to outsell the Wii for awhile longer.
