When they are winning, they have no incentive to "try". They can roll out a couple meaningful firmware updates a year, take a couple years to truly start releasing their best exclusives, overcharge for PS Now, introduce the multiplayer paywall, and now deciding FOR their customers by refusing options from EA.........and they will be loved for it.

I know this because the thrill/high of "selling more" compensated for any corporate laziness I lived through in gen 7. What did I care so long as PS3 was last place right? The 360 games played better, more fun was had, just from the knowledge that someone else was in last place.

Now the tables are turned. PS fans couldn't care less how complacent Sony gets. They are #1 and that's all that matters right?

That is total BS I'm afraid.

Firstly lets take this EA thing... you are saying that Sony *have* to accept any deal that EA bring to the table... without you even knowing what the deal that MS has agreed on. Secondly it's Sony's platform, they have every right to refuse it. Every single day companies (MS and Sony) decide what is best for their customers. Personally I want any subscription based system through one portal, having separate EA portal or Ubisoft portal is I'm afraid stupid... and having seen the system working today, as it was connecting to the EA servers to authenticate... yes I really believe it's stupid. Not only do you have to contend with accessing XB Live, you now have a secondary system to connect to, two points of failure, two different companies, end users with little knowledge wont know who is at fault when it fails to work and they dont get their games correctly. You think this is sony deciding for their customers, too right they did.. they dont want some over complicated system whereby they lose control of their system to a games company. Who let's be fair are very wishy washy in terms of supporting who ever they want one minute and swapping over in another.

MP Paywall... really thats an argument you are going to fight against after being a MS supporter who introduced it in the first place and as a more expensive option to PS+, with less features and less value than the Sony version. So was Sony complacent when it didnt put all those MMO's or TV apps behind a paywall like MS did. Or should you actually smell the coffee and say, actually if it wasnt for Sony doing a better job, MS wouldnt have done a 180 on it...and had to redo their original poor offer.

As for firmware, yes I would have hoped for more features, the Video recording stuff was nice (or did you forget they did that)... adding BR support is ok if it matters, stability is really important. Nothing to see here, they are adding more features and will add more features. Who really cares.

As for taking their time to release their best exclusives, really, seriously. You have no idea of the complexities of game development do you. They have released about the same amount of exclusives as MS, so I guess you are saying MS are complacent then, because the only reason MS might have a couple more is because they paid to stop them coming out on other platforms. Not what I would call impressive win for MS there.

So really your argument is really quite lame :) Because the reason Sony is doing better is because they had a better proposition. MS has to work harder *Because* it was a poorer proposition, so by that very definition, MS *have* to deliver more than Sony if they have any chance to beat them. At this time, sales are still massively in Sony's corner, so the market has *decided* that these features that you are saying Sony has failed in, dont mean diddly squat to the general public.
