So they are not interested in future nintendo products. A good example of expanding audience would be Sony. Their main first party offering were popular with kids on ps1, 12-15 yo with ps2, and 18-25yo with ps3. That way they kept their first audience as they grew up, but also attracted everyone around them. The genesis did the same by targeting teenagers, because they knew the NES kids had grown up. |
Yes ineed. I think had the Wii been another HD console and gotten all the 3rd party support, there would only be 2 consoles right now, and Nintendo would be one of them. Targeting the blue ocean was geniusly dnoe by Nintendo, but they should have gotten the hardcore market onboard as well, either by making "hardcore" games themselves or gotten 3rd party support.
It kinda feels like Nintendo is stuck with the same market they've had for a very long time, but what they need is new blood that actually sticks around, and that calls for Nintendo to evolve in some way or another.
I'm on Twitter @DanneSandin!
Furthermore, I think VGChartz should add a "Like"-button.
