Even today I saw a member here post that they would rather give their money and buy a digital game instead of a physical copy because they hate Gamestop. I don't see where this all comes from. Walmart has a new game, $59.97. Target, Sears, Bestbuy, K-Mart, Costco, etc... have a new game, $59.99. Gamestop has a new game, $59.99.
Gamestop was the one retailer who offered a trade-up program for TLoUR, while Sony and every other retailer just wanted your $50 or offered $10-$15 for a used copy of TLOU (PS3), Gamestop is giving you $25.
So seriously, why the hate? Is it because it's the cool thing to do these days? You know, hate on stores dedicated to the hobby you love. |
Why the Gamestop hate? I'll answer that with an actual scenario that I experienced awhile back when I HAD to go there to buy Xenoblade.
Me "I'd like a copy of Xenoblade."
Gamestop guy "Ok, would you like to apply for..."
Me "No, I just want the game."
Gamestop guy "But, if you sign up you can save money on this purchase right no..."
Me "No thank you, I just want the game. I'm good."
Gamestop guy (extremely sarastic tone) "What, you don't like saving money?"
Yeah...f' Gamestop.
