It is shipped + digital
Nintendo knows digital, and knows how much they shipped, they don't know how much wall mart and the other retail places sold.
I think Nintendo lost money because they have 5000 employess whose wags they have to pay every month. even if they are making a profit on all hardware + software sales, that profit dooesn't match yet fixed expenses.
