Gears of War 2 will sell more than Gears 1. I guarentee it.
There are few, if any major FPS/TPS titles for the end of 2008. Gears is now a mega franchise, and is still selling rather well (still selling ~10k/wk worldwide, at $60 a unit in the US, still).
It's bad logic to say "oh, it'll just live in the shadow of the former game" - Why? H2 didn't live behind H1, COD4 didn't live behind COD3, why buck the trend now?
When you have a major IP such as GOW, the 2nd will sell more. Most every franchise has.
Mark my words: GoW2 will sell atleast 5m copies in the same timespan that GOW1 sold under 4m. It'll hit 6m or more.
