And at the end of the day it still didn't come close to the PS2. I mean I know that a lot of people like to point out that the PS4 beat the Wiis launch and all that stuff, but I think that really doesn't matter. The Wii sold incredibly fast, reaching 80% of its sales in 4 years, that is something I don't think the PS4 will do, so it's really not important that the Wii sold at a faster rate at this point in its life as long as the PS4 lives longer.

Exactly.  Neither will the PS4.

The leader of this gen will be every bit as front loaded imo.  The world is a different place.  All 3 consoles will be officially available globally within the first 12 months.  That has NEVER happened before.

Legs of consoles will shrink as gens pass, not lengthen.  You only have to look at the Wii, 360 and PS3 as evidence.

PS3 had (read: is having) long legs.  Every Playstation has long legs.
