Absolutely pointless if your WiiU breaks down.

Everything is pointless if the console itself is broken even if you own the physical copy. Unless you mean the lock-to-console issue that's slowly getting resolved by Nintendo's patching.

You can always buy another console if you have physical copies though. Digital is all gone once a console dies and the servers are shut off
