Gone are the glory days of that franchise (PS1 trilogy). It is probably my favorite "mature" franchise (1-CV) of all time but sadly, the end has come. It's time to put that baby to rest imo.

But RE4 was the best game in the series, and that came out on the Cube!

RE4 is the sole reason the series took a nose dive. It may have been a great game, but it was a new IP with the RE name slapped on it much in the same way SMB2 was back in the NES era. It looked, played and felt entirely different. There weren't even ZOMBIES in it. Yeah, think about that for a second. A franchise about killing zombies...without zombies.

Ridiculous.

They should have kept the original RE4 (what went on to become Devil May Cry) and made a new IP out of what released as RE4. This way, the series lives on and a new IP is born. It would have been a win win (until people got sick of the RE4 gameplay...like they are now).
